Rearabilwe is a Sotho word which means we are answered. Rearabilwe started as an outreach project by St Georges Home in 2006 servicing the community of Daveyton/Etwatwa. In 2007, Rearabilwe replicated its services in the communities of Tsakane/KwaThema where the services of Rearabilwe were identified as needed to cater for the needs of orphans and vulnerable children.
Rearabilwe Ekurhuleni Community Care is a Non-Profit organisation that is operating in two sites namely Daveyton/Etwatwa and Tsakane/Geluksdal, with the main offices in Benoni. Staff capacity 8 permanent staff workers and 41 volunteers.
The project renders community based models of care for orphaned and vulnerable children affected and/ infected by HIV/AIDS and to facilitate the coordination of services by existing service providers within a specific community in order to limit the impact of HIV/AIDS on the social fabric of society.
